Artist Statement

I gained a BA (Hons) in Ceramics and Painting from the University of Wolverhampton in 2003. Since leaving I have been working as an art teacher whilst practicing as an artist from my studio.

I am interested in texture, shape and colour. Landscapes and seascapes inspire my shallow bowl forms, vases and box framed ceramic plaques. They provide a canvas to which I can paint the image expressively. These pieces have a feeling of freshness and movement that is achieved by the layers of slips, oxides, underglaze colours and glaze with bold brushstrokes, mark making and drawings.

The ceramic canvases combine flowers with paint to become contemporary artworks. A variety of colours and flowers can be made to suit any interior.

Commissions are welcomed.

My work can be purchased from the Fisherton Mill gallery, Salisbury, for info, please follow link on the 'contact' page
